My traumatic experience at the 14th city people awards

It was going to be a fabulous show, the colour of the day was black and silver. The event venue was the Balmoral Hall at oregun in Ikeja the very capital of our own Lagos state.
I showed up in the lovely balck slimed to fit monostrap knee lenght dress by river island.it was the most hugging and flattering dress in my closet i could hardly take a giant step in that outfit but i felt chic in it.
The event was slated for 2pm, the venue was set the red carpet was ready ,the security was in place and the paparazzi`s were all over the place.
At exactly 3.45pm i arrived at the venue to my suprise the hall was 80% filled.Guests were seated and drinks and small chops was being served. The comperes made their way to the stage and the event started in earnest.
I spotted Abah Folawiyo, Genevieve Nnaji,Tuface Idibia, Florence Ita-Giwa, Mrs Pamela Adedayo, Nigga Raw, Tiwa Savage , Mr. & Mrs Ubosi and a host of other top celebrities in the tent and i knew that more was yet to come.
Segun Obe thrilled us with his version of the national anthem and Mc shakara dished out some of his jokes while we drank and made new friends. I was having fun chatting away with this fine young man beside me. Head master equally took the stage for a bit.
we had only witnessed a few awards 4 to be precise when Abah Folawiyo was called to the stage to pick up an award for lifetime achievement when suddenly someone yelled out from the crowd “THE CURTAIN IS ON FIRE” i immediately got up to leave the crowded venue with my friend,we had only managed to get past our table when the fire took over the venue. All i could hear was screaming and the sound of glass smashing, something that sounded like gas and people tripping over and falling to the ground. It was horrible! Soon the entire tent was filled with smoke and we all had to push ourselves out of a single entrance.
How i managed to get out so fast in that river island master piece and 6inches shoe is still a miracle without tripping or falling. Thank God my friend held my hand firmly to keep me from the stampede.
I was in shock for hours people were running on the street without shoes, some had left their bags behind. Ladies who were the apples of the carpet had just run out to the streets stripped of all their glamour and panache. Now i have a small idea of how it feels to behold death or better still how horrifying hell will be for those who choose to go there.
I heard that the fire which may have wounded or killed hundreds of people was caused by the negligience of a lady who was cooking close to the tent. Unblievable!
Well peeps good news or intriguing news is the Balmoral hall is almost done and the show will go on…. yes people the city people will be redoing the show at the same venue on the 1st of May.
come in fire proof outfits this time or bring a fire extinguisher along.
